In 2016 only three countries have used a manned space vehicle. They are Russia, USA, and China. Vostok 1 was the first manned vehicle used. It was launched April 12, 1961 flown by Yuri Gagarin. This took place 25 days before the first U.S. suborbital flight. There were no tracking ships available so instead they had to rely on network ground stations or Command Points. The entire mission was controlled by automatic systems. The flight took 108 minutes from start to finish. The vehical landed in Kazakhstan. That is about 26 km southwest of Eagels. Yuri landed on the ground after being ejected 7 km.
